Annual fee? I would not have a credit card that charges an annual fee. Side note I have not paid any interest on a credit card since 1985, now that is the real savings.

Depends...I only use AMEX, have no other credit cards except my bank debit I never use and AMEX is paid off every month in full. Had the Platinum back in the early 2000s because I was on worldwide travel constantly and the perks were great. Went back to the Gold card but just had an offer to go back to Platinum and they’d give me 100,000 points and 5X points for travel. I switched back because the first year alone would pay for the card.

I don’t fly anymore just because of the BS travelers are mostly trailer trash, TSA is worthless and the airport lounges are nothing like they used to be.

So it’s personal if it’s worth it or not.

I don’t know. I suppose some idiots do that. In fact most Americans do. They are in so much debt they can’t breathe. I followed him and can’t believe the money I’ve accumulated. I’ll never spend it all.

Many credit cards today collect their interested in a daily basis, based on the APR / 365 (maybe 364 on Leap Years?).

(”interested” = “interest calculated”)

I have an AmEx Platinum and a Chase Sapphire. Active Duty military doesn't have to pay the annual fee so there's that.

I pay all of my CCs of every month so I never rack up interest.

When I retire, I don't know if I'll be able to justify the fees so I'll probably cancel them and take the ding to my credit score.

Usually, cards that have no grace period advertise low interest rates, so that “low” interest begins to accrue immediately upon any purchase.

I only use cards that don’t accrue interest until the payment due date, three or four weeks after you receive your bill. Some have ridiculously high interest rates, but I don’t care since I pay them off every month and never pay interest.

Plus, I get cash back on all purchases (usually 1%, but up to 5% at some stores). If you shop Amazon, you can use cash back balances to purchase goods, so you don’t even have to wait to get the cash back reward to spend it.
