If you are crossing a paved ford in your car, it only takes few inches of fast-moving water to sweep your car downstream.

You are right...lots of people have no idea of the strength of a current.

Even wading knee-deep in a fast-moving stream is a challenge.

When we get flash flood warnings invariably there are people that will drive in the areas where the Flash flood warnings mean the most. With predictable results

Had an in law who wanted to move here from Florida, got all bent out of shape when the realtor said we’re done for the day we’ve got flash flood warnings.

She moved here, :-(
She eventually moved away:-)
