If you are crossing a paved ford in your car, it only takes few inches of fast-moving water to sweep your car downstream.

You are right...lots of people have no idea of the strength of a current.

Even wading knee-deep in a fast-moving stream is a challenge.

We crossed 4-6 inches of water with my friend’s van (😲🤯😱) about 25 years ago but only after I watched the 🌊🌊 water for several minutes.

It was pooling, not moving tree branches or mud, other debris.

4-lane highway but not a major highway 🛣️

And yes a van 🚐 is basically a houseboat
