Yes but AirBNB is not liked in many communities and I’m sure there are attorneys that would love to have the case the breaks them and makes them accountable for the renters. First, history of these folks, discovery and public disclosure of how frequent this happens, and AirBnB’s response in the past. I think they lose, especially if the play the big bully in the local community hurting the locals, while keeping the profit.

Yes, Donald Trump has the same problem in many communities.

Still, the law is the law, or should be.

It seems most lawsuits are by the guests, not the hosts. I think she would be not be liked in many communities because she is a landlord making a profit on the backs of poor people ... etc.

It depends on who these guests are I suppose but don't expect Durham, NC to be all that sympathetic to her. She has to follow the due process as a landlord of the locality in which she chose to own a house. There is a lesson to be learned here.

Airbnb has had to respond to a variety of lawsuits since they first launched in 2008. This includes allegations of discrimination, allegations of breach of contract, and failure to protect the safety of its premises. To handle the increasing number of legal actions taken against them, Airbnb has hired several high profile lawyers and representatives to aggressively advocate on their behalf and protect their insurance polices. Although the platform continues to make improvements in security protocols and new policies for hosts to ensure safe and secure conditions for guests, thousands of incidents occur within homes each week across America. AirBnb continues to respond strategically in court as more legal challenges emerge, with the goal of limiting the amount of success plaintiffs have had in the past.
