I cannot comprehend the mindset in which this young lady wins a beauty contest, but like you, I commend her for her courage, and congratulate her on her success. I pray that she is able to lose some weight and improve her likely compromised health. Perhaps the rigors of a year of representing her state will give her that opportunity.

I have a family member who has battled weight issues since she was a child. This woman is extremely smart, very talented, incredibly hard working, and has a wicked sense of humor.
She is often misjudged because of her weight.
