Arguably the greatest offensive lineman who ever played. RIP.
After Anthony Munoz, you’re probably right.
a 5.2 40
At 325 lbs.
That’s insane speed/power
The article had his complete biography except for one thing.....why he died. 🤷
I would put Jonathan Ogden up there too.
I saw Allen do some incredible things, literally pancake a Steelers all-pro in the Super Bowl, run down a Saints DB from behind. I do think that Dallas would have beaten the 48ers in the Championship they lost in SF if he had been healthy.
But play in and play out, I was never that impressed with him. Just one little for instance-—and I know the LINE is the LINE. But you recall the idiocy in Philly where Dallas went for it on 3rd, 4th, and a penalty 5th down with 1 yard to go on his side . . . and were stopped all three times? No. That wouldn’t happen with Nate Newton or with Zach Martin. If I had to choose, I’d take Martin over Allen. I know this is Cowboy heresy.
Absolutely one of if not the best O-Linemen to EVER play the game. Could have continued to play if he wanted. Lost a bunch of weight and was healthy. Wonder if he got the shot. Could have been other things. RIP ALLEN..
