MERIDIAN, Idaho — Because of a national agenda, and far right outrage, dozens of "questionable" books have been removed from library shelves in Idaho over the last couple of years.
More than twenty in Nampa schools, ten in West Ada Schools, to name a couple high-profile instances.
This was before Idaho lawmakers decided to put a possible fine on libraries. Where a child who checks out such material, or if it's not removed, they and their parents could sue the library for $250, plus damages. In both public and school libraries.
So, to avoid any hassle, a lot of libraries just removed a lot of books.
One recent high school graduate said they had enough of not having a say as a student about what books would be available in her library.
Which is why she decided to make a statement. One that would have likely remained among the small gathering for the Idaho Fine Arts Academy Graduation, were it not for social media.
The graduation ceremony at the academy for the class of 2024 was a lot like dozens of others taking place around Idaho these last couple of weeks. A lot of the same pomp, just smaller circumstances.
At this small school, only 44 seniors would walk across the stage to get their diploma. One of those students had something up her sleeve. Annabelle Jenkins said she has always been into books.

Probably full of degenerate trash.
Making a statement that nobody really cares about.
Honey, if you want the book go out and buy it. The whole premise behind banning books is that taxpayer money should not be used to buy cheap porno garbage. There’s no law that says public schools or the government has to provide you with erotica.
no books have been banned
Liberals are just evil. If one doesn’t kill their baby in the womb, they want to groom it for pedo homosexuals.
So, if she was able to get the book, and was not punished for having it, how is it “banned?”
Now, she'll get pregnant, so she can have an abortion and, thus, confirm her standing in the "progressive" camp.
If the book is banned, how did the student obtain it? By illegal means?
As I’ve said here before, I live in a podunk rural conservative county in the middle of no-where. Population about 15,000. I think about 4,000 voted in the primary election (3,500 GOP—500 Dems).
We have only one elementary school, one primary school, one middle school, and one high school. Given all the news in the media of inappropriate books, the school formed a committee of parents and teachers who reviewed the books in local library. There was one book that was in the children’s section that they recommended be moved to the older teen or adult section.
The book transfer was done with minimal fuss and the one or two liberals that yelled “book banning” were ignored and told if they wanted the book for their children they were free to purchase it. (I don’t think either of them actually have children and are liberal transplants to our county).
I was pleased with the way it was handled.

Curious
What are the grade levels for each? I can figure about three of them, but four?
as a retired teacher I really hate it when kids like her ( mainly from priv backgrounds)
do shite like this. Its the showoff kid & its never a dare. Its the kids presumption they have a so- called “ conscience “ yet go abbout it by exposing their lack of direction.
Shouldn’t she be arrested for distributing child pornography. I am kind of assuming here it is one of “those” books with graphic descriptions of sexual deviance between adolescents or even adults and adolescents.
