If men behaved like civilized men instead of alley cats, and didn't try to take advantage of women to satisfy their lusts, women wouldn't have to be the *gatekeepers* of sex.
That is blame shifting plain and simple.
It’s blameshifting from the top 20% of men can demand (and get) sex on or bybthe third date, to all the rest of the men who the women won’t even consider for a date.
The utilitarian argument against the sexual revolution was that everyone would be sleeping around and the resulting sexual free-for-all, and the resulting jealousies and rivalries, would make cooperation, say in an office setting, impossible.
That lasted only for a short time until the women, restricted from shame, from the fear of unwanted pregnancies, and from having to screen for and then land, a provider, ALL decided to pursue recreational sex with the hottest men.
(The appeal of this to women is that they get to sample a smorgasbord of sex with the most attractive men, without having to lock themselves down. The 80% and below men, never had a chance with the top 20% of women anyway; but the sexual revolution meant that the 80% of women wouldn’t consider even dating them anymore, until they hit the wall.)
