I can say with complete certainty that Ozempic is not a miracle weight loss drug. It probably does lower A1C but weight loss is not a certain benefit. Furthermore, to keep the weight off you must submit to a lifelong series of weekly jabs. I can also say with complete certainty it can make you fatigued, give you headaches, cause stomach cramps for a couple of days after each injection and so forth.

Good luck with that, your mileage may vary.

My wife as a T1DB with an insulin pump/CGM has fits with Ozempic. Lots of digestive distress the day of injection. Indigestion. Delayed gastric emptying. Diarrhea. It is especially disconcerting to be experiencing a glucose low warning from your pump/CGM and consuming glucose doesn't fix it for longer than you would expect. We've had to resort to shooting the glucagon powder in her nose on one occasion to prevent a dangerous low glucose (46) from getting worse. It does help lower A1C. That was the justification for the prescription. It does help lose weight by promoting a full feeling (leaving half of her expensive entree uneaten).

The downside is that much of the weight loss is muscle mass. Much of the rebound weight gain returns as fat.

I've been on it before. The amazing thing about it is that it reduces the "noise" in your head about eating, wanting to eat, when is lunch, I love food, etc.

The magic is what it does to your *desire* to eat ... even if you're hungry. You simply don't want to eat.

The symptoms that I had were very mild. Brief stomach cramping that passed, some mild constipation. As you said, your mileage may vary.

Other than the side effects we don't know about yet, the problem with this drug is that it kills your appetite to the point that you lose weight too quickly ... meaning, your skin doesn't have that slow leisurely time to retract. So unless you are making yourself eat you will have saggy skin and that DOES NOT go away.
