The culture and society as a whole are consuming far too many drugs to deal with issues that could be solved with a reasonable diet and exercise and other lifestyle choices.

Many older drugs are still being used and are very safe.

Seems like the drugs being pumped out today come with horrendous side effects that really make you question the value of taking them at all.

The only weight loss drugs I tried was Adipex+ and Byetta. The Byetta made me sick to my stomach to the point where I was throwing up in the garbage can at work. The Adipex worked the first time I tried it but it eventually loses its effectiveness, which it did, and the weight always comes back.

If there are other older, safer drugs, I am not aware of them, but I'm to the point where if someone doesn't like me for the way I look, bad on them, it's their problem, not mine. But I got the peace of mind knowing I'm not pumping my body full of that junk anymore.

Dude, I just looked that up. That’s a serious “kitchen remodeling.” You going to be ok afterwards?

I hope to be released to go home around July 1st. That assumes no complications. The ampullary tumor is just big enough to obstruct flow of bile/pancreatic enzymes. Just enough obstruction to inflate the common bile duct to resemble a sock all the way to the liver. Just enough to raise my alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin to levels that resulted in denial of life insurance. The surgeon who did the ERCP placed a plastic stent to hold the "ampulla" open so bile and pancreatic enzymes can flow freely. My bilirubin and ALP lab results look normal now.

I'm expecting to be back to work the first week of July. I'll have to see if that is realistic once the "remodeling" is complete.

You need to be on the FR prayer list! Be sure and let us all know how you’re doing.
