Criminal charges have been dropped against world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler, who said he hopes to move on from the incident that took place outside the PGA Championship earlier this month.
"I hold no ill will toward Officer [Bryan] Gillis. I wish to put this incident behind me and move on, and I hope he will do the same," Scheffler wrote in an Instagram story Wednesday, referencing the Louisville police officer who arrested him outside Valhalla Golf Club. "Police officers have a difficult job and I hold them in high regard. This was a severe miscommunication in a chaotic situation."
During a court hearing Wednesday, Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell said prosecutors would not pursue the case and asked for the charges to be dismissed with prejudice, meaning they can't be filed again in the future.
"Based upon the totality of the evidence, my office cannot move forward in the prosecution of the charges filed against Mr. Scheffler," O'Connell said. "Mr. Scheffler's characterization that this was a 'big misunderstanding' is corroborated by the evidence. The evidence we reviewed supports the conclusion that Detective Gillis was concerned for public safety at the scene when he initiated contact with Mr. Scheffler. However, Mr. Scheffler's actions and the evidence surrounding their exchange during this misunderstanding do not satisfy the elements of any criminal offenses."

So who’s going to take the cop to task for swearing out a false warrant?
ROFL!!!
Yeah ... I believe that ...
He was wearing the magic blue suit and the magic shield of perpetual innocence; he can do no wrong.
“who’s going to take the cop to task for swearing out a false warrant?”
Did you see the police chief?...
That kids’ lucky she didn’t push this as hard as possible. Lol!
I’m sure one of the “good cops” will speak up against him.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
The best revenge for this misuse of authority will come when the PGA removes this venue from the schedule.
“So who’s going to take the cop to task for swearing out a false warrant?”
No one. He’ll get away with it and do it again.
We had a family member killed by a member of LE.
Somehow I can still keep an even keel regarding issues involving LE.
What the heck is your problem??
Black cop:
“He’s gettin’ arrested and there ain’t nothin’ you can do about it”
Perfect example of another black with too much authority.....especially if they have any control over a white person
Both the cop and Scheffler should be very grateful I’m not the DA there.
How about everyone shake hands and agree it was a shitty moment.
People make mistakes. The cop made plenty.
Real men used to be able to let stuff go, and move on with their lives. Looking to exact revenge for this is the sign of a simple mind.
Your ignorant comments about Scotty Scheffler for one thing.
There’s no revenge motive here. The man swore out a false warrant. That’s a felony, no matter what else. He’s not fit to be a commissioned police officer, with all the deadly power that comes with the position. It’s just a matter of time before he kills someone if he keeps his job.
Just as I predicted he’s untouchable
Good thing he did not mention his political stand.
That was a given before this. PGA of America no longer owns Valhalla (thus no free rent). They’ll simply shift this PGA Championship to Frisco, TX (which they do now own).
This is the real reason for moving the PGA from August to May anyway.
The cop filed felony charges and stuck to them. There’s no shaking hands after that. Pig should be impoverished and imprisoned just as he wanted to do to Scheffler and that’s not revenge it’s prevention. How exactly do you think this situation would have gone for someone without a publicist and lawyer on speed dial?
