Quit conflating Veteran's Day with Memorial Day by posting stories of the feats of Veterans who did not die while serving. You are disrespecting those who gave all in the service of their nation! Jerks

This is just the typical ignorance that is all about us every day. You overstate the situation when you say the ignorant are disrespecting the dead. I do agree that they are failing to respect the dead by conflating the two holidays.
Respecting the fallen is properly done, as Lincoln observed in his address after the Gettysburg battle, by giving increased devotion to the cause for which they struggled.

my nephew did it again- made references to his dead mom ( not a war veteran, or even a veteran) and then called his dad( an Army VN veteran) to say Happy Memorial Day!
