I will answer you more or less the way I responded to Julie Kelly's X post:
THE REPUBLIC FELL TODAY! No amount of talk is going to bring it back. In fact, the more it is talked about only serves as a balm to slowly ease the pain.
In the history of the world no tyranny has been overturned by popular election. The 'slavery party' has finally won its century long battle - the 'civil war'. They are not going to easily relinquish power now. For the first time ever a coup to overthrow a popular govt was left unpunished - and now the bill has come due... the barbarians have breached the gates; the light on the hill has been stomped out.
History will judge us now on how we handle this complete destruction of (Western) civilization.
And make no mistake. It is the complete destruction of civilization that they want. Not just the US, but Europe as well.
That shining city on the hill no longer exists, or is about to fall.
Thank you, Bob. I concur.
I’ve also lived prescient (since 1980 FWIW) expectant of a sea change against grave losses, in the direction of darkened American institutions. The ballot never brought change, and POTUS Trump was the first president to try to address it. The rage against him only increased the decadence.
Americans are not feared by their overlords, since the infamous Sixties, when they actually worked. Why would they be?
Coups are now regular political public relations events. Can you believe it? It is quite acceptable to keep it that way. Free speech is pricey. People stay silent. Heads down.
Sweet, for only one side. That has been my personal observation.
