When I was stationed in England for 3 years all Brits trying to do an American accent would sound like John Wayne.

I grew up in Hialeah and we had a heavy Cuban population. When I hung out with my cuban friends they enjoyed my speaking in Spanish. They actually found it extremely funny, so I asked them why. They explained while my Spanish was quite good, they just never heard Spanish spoken in redneck.
