The Story Behind the Picture.

What prompted me to purchase this poster.

Attended the 24th Monaco Grand Prix on May 22, 1966.
My Marine unit was deployed with the U.S. Navy 6th Fleet on a Med cruise and our ship was in Cannes for liberty. Took the train (about 35 miles) from Cannes to Monaco.
That year the winner was Jackie Stewart BRM*, Lorenzo Bandini (Ferrari) 2nd, and Graham Hill BRM 3rd. The following year Bandini died at the Monaco Grand Prix as a result of a fiery crash.
The 1966 Monaco Grand Prix was featured in the movie Grand Prix starring James Garner & Eva Marie Saint. One of the ten highest-grossing films of 1966, Grand Prix won three Academy Awards for its technical achievements. The day I was there they were shooting crowd scenes from a helicopter ... most racing scenes (seen in the movie) were shot earlier in the week.

Going by the helmet marking the nearest driver in the poster is Graham Hill. Not sure about the red car driver but I assume it's a Ferrari. Also the artist signed there is again Michael Turner. Here is another watermark free image of it.

ps- supposedly piquet was giving the middle finger to Senna while sliding past him on the corner- according to posters on the video showing more of the battle between him and Senna

Things sure are getting better Re: mixing up the Grid and the Racing is getting better (as long as Mad Max and everyone else keeps hammiebuttboi and totofortwotwopuffs down off the High Horse they’ve been on for a while to long.)

The fancy new lawnmower I just got through spending 600 bucks on for electric start self propelled I had to go back to Lowe’s because it wouldn’t start with the electric start which was the whole point of buying the $600 damn mower.

So took it back to Lowe’s and ended up buying a Toro self propelled electric start blah blah blah for another $180 or whatever I’m made out of freaking money so now I got Mama Bear an $800 freaking mower in this one. Damn sure better start with the electric starter, maybe we can find out tomorrow since it’s crappy weather around here still got to assemble it and charge the battery but Selah freaking V ...

This damned thing better be bringing Us Breakfast in bed !!! Eggs Benedict, 3 Slices of Bacon, Orange Marmalade, fresh mixed Fruit Salad, Baby Waffle with Butter Pecan Syrup, Mimosa and a Strawberry Daiquiri...
