indeed ... so it’s particularly gratifying when one sees the retired sports stars smart enough to parley their sports earnings into big time money by smart investing ...

Every new NFL rookie has mandatory free investment counseling to make sure something like this does not happen.
The AVERAGE length of an NFL career is now just three years. Including back up QBs and kickers who have typically a much longer career in the league.

Running backs average about 2 years. Very few actually earn the amount that Antonio Brown did over his career. He had amazing talent, BUT even guys like Tom Brady could not help him. He tried. They guy is literally NUTS(crazy).
So, this is not surprising to me at all. In fact. I would not be surprised IF we read about him dying young in some accident.
