I converted my DR650 to a "supermoto". It now has 17" tubeless, laced wheels with GPR300 tires. The front brake is upgraded to a 320mm disk. I had to change the speedometer drive to compensate for the change from 21" to 17" front. The rear dropped from 18" to 17". I also had to change the side stand to the shorter version for "lowered" bikes. All of the suspension is still full travel vs a factory "lower" that steals some travel to achieve the lowering. The bike rides smoothly. It is light, powerful and agile. I don't ride in the dirt anymore, so this was a good upgrade for the way I use the bike.

Sounds like a nice project. Still the stock 35 BHP?
