Gah, that’s horribly sad. Just getting ready to go for my walk now at 11:40pm.
A common returning home for me. What of it?
LBJ destroyed the black family, Hispanic family and to a degree the white family, with his “Great Society Legislation.” The rules of it made it financially advantageous not to be married and out of wedlock births soared amongst blacks and also whites.
Out of wedlock births in 1990 and 2016
White 15% 28%
Hispanic 34% 52%
Black 63% 69%

Peruvian food has distinct seasoning, is usually cooked over an open flame, and in south Fl it’s usually chicken and beef. Garlic flavored yucca is great as a side dish. They only use guinea pigs as pot stickers on the appetizer menu.

One of the coach’s favorite sayings: that “nothing good ever happens after midnight”
I'm only familiar with yucca from walking into it in the Army. We had an entirely different name for that plant. I had no idea you could eat it.
They were trying to give out bibles to all the street people out and about at 3:30 am. Nothing nefarious about that.
Survival camping in the 60’s in Fl, we learned about heart of palmetto, and while yucca isn’t a native species, we also tried it back then. as well as gator, snake, turtle, rabbit, and lots of birds but never possum or armadillo. also there were wild grapes, blackberries, and sassafras as well as fish and shellfish. fire ants, subdivisions and other invasive species really changed the ecology of fl.
I learned about fire ants on the first day of basic training at Ft. Benning. They coordinate their attacks, the rat basstids.
Keith Erickson (ex Los Angeles Laker) lost his daughter at 2 am in the morning. I think she was 23. Nothing good comes at that time of the early morning.
It’s a shame they changed the name. Columbus is a beyatch in the summer. One summer it was over 100 every day in July. In 92 a group I’m in sponsored the Infantry Ball. Theme was anniversary of Salerno. Got a nice letter from Maj General Jerry West who was base cmdr at the time. I like the 50th Inf Motto.. Play the game...
