A “plus-size” travel influencer claimed a Washington airport worker refused to push her in a wheelchair up the jet bridge because of her size, which left her gasping for air when she was forced to walk off the plane.
Jae’lynn Chaney, 27, revealed on TikTok that she requested “wheelchair assistance” during her trip to Sea-Tac International Airport in Washington.
“I’m a plus-size wheelchair user and on a recent flight to the Sea-Tac airport, I requested wheelchair assistance, as I always do,” a narrator said on Chaney’s post. “When it came time for me to deplane, I saw the employee who would be assisting me with my wheelchair waiting for me in the entry of the jet bridge.”
The influencer, who has amassed over 135,500 followers on the platform, claimed the employee started walking away from the plane when she saw the traveler deboard the plane.
“As I approached her and she realized she’d be assisting me and not one of the smaller passengers she started to walk away with the wheelchair while making comments about my size,” Chaney claimed.
Chaney, who can walk, allegedly told the employee she needed the chair but was “blatantly ignored,” forcing her to walk up “one of the longest jet bridges I’ve encountered.”
The long walk took a lot of energy out of the influencer, and she claimed she nearly fainted.
“By the time she let me reach the wheelchair and sit down my lips were white, my oxygen levels had dropped, and I almost fainted,” Chaney recalled.

Ha ha.
They should’ve used a forklift to take her down the jetway.
Unless you are handicapped, a 27 year old does not need a wheelchair. Lose some weight.
“What’s repulsive about her, she flaunts her obesity, takes no responsibility and plays the victim card to the max.”
I had to think and study up on this before I replied.
Seems this woman does a lot of traveling, and by plane.
I hate airplanes even more so after 9-11. If you were honest you would admit that flying is not what it used to be. She is complaining about seat size? Be honest now!! Normal people are! They have made seats smaller to fit more people in like sardines. Even your average Joe is in pain while he flies the hostile skies.
Flying used to be an elite experience now it’s like riding a Greyhound bus. In fact from what I hear it’s better to ride Greyhound. You have more comfy seats and better leg room.
Then comes along this woman. Yea I hear what you are saying but I have to believe the airlines had this coming. If it takes this woman’s fat ass to make seats normal size again then I say to her “have at it toots”.
Polycystic ovary syndrome and pulmonary hypertension and lots of bad nutritional advice involving low fat/low calorie diets.
She needs to watch a couple of episodes of My 600 lb. Life.
She could feed a small Indan village, for 30-40 days.
There's a reason the term "Jet Set" was invented to describe the rich and famous.
A Wonder the aircraft left the ground!
when she inevitably dies from being a fat, bloated pig, there will be enough food left over for 3 people because she won’t be eating it.
Truth right there!
If the worker was of small stature she may have risked serious injury trying to push any object let alone a person of such bulk. She also risked injuring the passenger if she was unable to properly steer the chair because of the weight.
Putting the safety of yourself and a passenger is a must. SHe did nothing wrong.
Good point. Maybe she should spend less time traveling and more time putting her affairs in order.
I didn’t know they made tandem axle wheel chairs. Huh.

I had a friend who started gaining weight. She was a very self-disciplined, methodical person, so she started decreasing her caloric intake. Still she gained weight. Reduced her intake to 500 calories per day, but gained anyway. Finally went to the doctor, who ran blood work and was found to have thyroid disease. Was put on thyroid medication, and immediately started losing and lost all the excess weight.
“The long walk took a lot of energy out of the influencer,”
She had to stop at the first food court to take on several pounds of food to recover.
As Bill Burr puts it: “You ate your way in, you can walk your way out.”
I would be leery of a medication developed from Gila Monster venom.
Diet and exercise works pretty well, without nasty side effects.
Not to relegate this type of physical health problem, made worse by psychological issues and biochemical systems out of whack by the very foods one may decide to eat in excess (sugars,non-complex carbs, zero exercise) compounded by a demonstrated food addiction (hormone influenced. it’s been studied)— not to relegate this to any one area of the country....BUT Southern people have known about this behaviour minus the “influencer” BS on tik-tok, for ages. One wonders if this person has any family to point out reality and a need for multi-level help. At age 27.
