Yes 100k more like it. In fact there is one almost exactly like it on Ebay motors right now for 109k. Hmmmmm?

Maybe he’s spent $200,000 on an otherwise $10,000 car? And now, once they find it, probably worth $100 for scrap. How much did he have it insured for? Bet just liability insurance as it really wasn’t worth much.

“I might believe $100k”

Value changes radically depending on how original the car is. That model was going for $100k over decade ago. I had a ‘59 vette so I kept up with kind of stuff.

That’s for the insurance company.

Most with classic cars
insure them thru Hagerty
or similar firm using
an agreed value. Many
things come into play when
accessing a classic car’s
value.
Who knows what this car’s
history was besides the
guy who put so much time
and effort into it.
I feel bad for the old man.

The highest price paid for
any ‘59 vetted was $895k
Just found this one. Just $5k
short of $200k.

I’m siding with the owner on
his declared value of the car. As with any car,
it’s worth what someone
is willing to pay.

I was thinking the same thing.
Other than the year, usually nothing special about the ‘59.
