“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Beane wrote. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
If the NFL did not think it had a political mission to fill, it simply would have had nothing to say about the matter.
In saying, as an organization, it disagrees with what Butker said, the NFL was as much as saying it has a POLTICAL view that is PRO abortion, pro LBGTQ+ and pro everything else in the woke agenda.
“The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
What does that gobbledygook even mean? They just spout these pre-digested word salad sentences, though never explaining anything or providing examples.
If they really want to be “inclusive” (ProTip: They don’t) then they would embrace the full spectrum of diverse beliefs.
They are kind of giving the game away here. What “Inclusion” really means is exclusion of beliefs they don’t like. Orwell would be proud, I’m sure.
The NFL is not been aligned with Christian values, so it makes sense that they would denounce him.
The NFL has changed a bit since the 60s and 70s, hasn’t it? It goes beyond both the players and the fans being a lot bigger than they uses to be. Football remains an amazing game, but the NFL is cultural poison.
I watched all of Mr. Butker’s speech and it was very powerful. He never claimed he was speaking for the NFL. I doubt anybody alive assumed he was acting as an NFL representative.
I’m always disappointed when organizations like the NFL have to rebut such a wonderful, uplifting, traditional, and moral speech. It strongly confirms that the NFL is the exact opposite of wonderful, uplifting, traditional and moral despite their protestations.
The NFL should have just kept its mouth shut instead of erasing remaining doubts.
HA HA
I knew the NFLwould feel the need to get involved in this. A few days ago, I posted it is possible Butker will not be in the NFL next season
Several FR replies said: “no way - he’s too good a kicker for the Chiefs”
And my reply to that - under a marxist government and society, literally every act is political one, with political consequences. That’s where we are headed. I still say Butker is done in the NFL.
Idiots all over are trying to cancel CATHOLIC Harrison Butker for Talking About CATHOLIC Values to CATHOLICS. I pray for his and his family’s safety.
i drop kicked the nfl from my life years ago.
i see no reason to look back.
go woke go broke.
Don’t worry Mr. Beane. Nothing could be more clear. No sentient being would think otherwise.
[[. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”]]
UNLESS you are a patriot who loves this nation and honors it by standing in respectful manner while the anthem is played
Why does the NFL feel the need criticize a speech made at a non-NFL event? Mind your own business, greedheads.
Amen to that.
Just watch. The Chiefs will "cut" Butker in the training camp.
Those who are still making voluntary financial contributions to the NFL may wish to reconsider such funding decisions - or just send the money directly to the DNC and save time.
I'm shocked, shocked I tell ya, shocked.
Now I’ll root for this guy.
Bump
What this thread needs is a link to the speech.
Thank you.
“The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
Oh? Will you then agree to making the various races of the players on the roster equal to the race’s percentage of the U.S. citizenry?
Until you do so, your statement is a bald-faced lie.
Since most low information masses don't read past the headlines, other celebrities/athletes feel they're at risk if they say they support his words.
They ARE NOT my moral compass so they need to STFU about anything other than football.
