Google was a good search engine ten years ago, but now their search results are severely sterilized.

For contentious issues like politics, religion, and war, compare Google and Yandex results and the differences are astounding.

Russians don't seem to care about political correctness...

But they do care about information control and internet censorship. But go on and tell us all that they tell you whatever you want to hear.

Russia Is Quietly Ramping Up Its Internet Censorship Machine

I've been using Yandex for a few years. Google is fine for looking for local businesses, looking up information about the African dung beetle, or any other non political topic.

BUT

If the topic is even remotely political, look it up on Google. Then look it up on Yandex. You will be simply amazed at how different the results are.

For example:

"The 2020 election was stolen" Google

False claim of a new report on fraud in 2020 elections USA Today https://www.usatoday.com › factcheck › 2024/05/15 › n...

Results of Lawsuits Regarding the 2020 Elections Campaign Legal Center (a leftist site peddling BS claim about "60 law suits" while neglecting to mention NONE were decided on the merits)

Trump's drumbeat of lies about the 2020 election keeps ... AP News https://apnews.com › article › trump-2020-election-lies-...

How 2020 election denialism became a litmus test for the ... PBS

See that? AP, NY Times, USA Today, CNN, PBS, a couple of obscure Leftist sites. That's Google. It "can't find" any articles saying the 2020 election was stolen.

Now let's try Yandex. "the 2020 election was stolen"

WOW! Such articles DO actually exist. How "amazing" that Google somehow can't seem to find them.

When they just outright LIE to you right in front of your eyes like this............You know you can't believe one single word Big Tech or the Corporate Media say - about anything. It doesn't even matter whether its true or not.(of course we all know it is). Google/Big Tech simply REFUSES to allow you to read for yourself and make up your own mind. They would rather LIE to you in order to try to manipulate you to believing in their propaganda, lies and Leftist ideology.

Agree that Yandex is very good on issues that mean a lot to conservatives. But you’ll find that most people criticizing Yandex here either don’t believe the 2020 election was stolen, or, if it was stolen, they’re happy it was stolen from Trump.

Thanks, that’s very helpful. I’ve also started using excite.com but when putting in your query it gives the standard google response. However it’s much better than google for certain searches. Google is almost useless these days.

I’m far from a Russian Stool, but I’ve found myself using Yandex more lately. You really can see the difference between US search engine censorship. For example, try searching for the most popular Donald Trump fan site, The Donald, on Google, Brave, Yahoo, etc. You will never get the Donald. However, try Yandex and it properly comes up as the first item based on its huge site traffic. This is clearly censorship. I found searches for Covid harm, Ivermectin benefits, and other hot button issues equally censored on the US search engines but fully available on Yandex. Ironic that the former commies do a better job of letting you read the info and decide for yourself.

If I’m searching for info on US government corruption, I don’t use Google.

If I’m searching for info on Russian government corruption, I don’t use Yandex.

If I’m searching for info on Chinese government corruption, I don’t use Baidu..

Each have their value, but no search engine will ever be universal in scope.
