Unfortunately these types of threads draw racist comments like a moth to a flame. I expect some of that is due to ignorance, upbringing, etc.

I first came to FR as a lurker at its inception - I followed Mr. Robinson here from Usenet.
In all the years I lurked, before actually ‘joining’ and posting, I never saw the level of mindless, smart-ass racist comment that we see now.
Recent years have been very different.
