They were all taken aboard an Extra-Terrestrial Spaceship, and shipped to the home planet of the aliens, for study. They will be returned safely, but because of Time Dilation they will have aged very little while time on Earth has passed several centuries.................

The Extra-Terrestrial Spaceship theory is intriguing, but I want to hear RFK, Jr.’s take on it before deciding whether to believe it.
Very close. Since they were located on a lay line, a wormhole opened up while they were all sleeping and transported them to the planet Kroll. Due to the toxic atmosphere, they all turned blue and developed AI which rule them to this very day.
