Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s job is in trouble, as many Republicans in Congress are dissatisfied with his lack of leadership and willingness to cozy up to the Democratic opposition.
Matt Kibbe is joined by Rep. Thomas Massie, who explains why he’s calling for the speaker to be replaced and outlines what he calls “the three betrayals of Mike Johnson.” First, Johnson abandoned the regular order budgeting process in favor of a massive omnibus bill. Second, he reauthorized warrantless surveillance of Americans by the FISA courts, and third, he is ushering through a military spending package that would send American taxpayer dollars to fund the wars in Ukraine, Israel, and Palestine. To top it all off, Democratic leaders in the House are openly admitting that they want to keep Johnson in power, which speaks volumes about how firm his conservative bona fides really are.

Massie says the FBI are “thumbing their nose at Reps” (never answering questions) yet Mike Johnson gives them a new $200 million building in Steny Hoyer’s state.
“Great”.
Wow...
Massie says congressmen are exempt from FISA 702 spying but only SITTING congressman not their challengers and the permission to spy on them has to go not to Jim Jordan’s judicial committee but Mike Turner’s intelligence committee...
Interesting.
“Mike Johnson just rubber stamped everything”
“We have the FBI policing the FBI”
“It won’t work”
Massie:
“The supplemental (Ukraine aid bill) which added up to about $100 billion was a betrayal again because the majority of Republicans voted against it and yet Mike Johnson voted for it and he figured out a way through the Rules committee of snookering everyone and packaging it in such a way that Rand Paul, Mike Lee and others like JD Vance etc. were limited in their options to fight it.”
Something really is foul in DC. What did who do to Mike Johnson to turn him?
“We’re in a shared power structure in the House of Representatives and many of my colleagues don’t want to admit it”
“Why are the Democrats saving Mike Johnson? Because he gives them everything they want.
“He gives Jeffries and Schumer everything they want. They dont want to deal with the border or cut spending there’s a long list of things they want and Mike Johnson gives it to them”
The GOPe might very well get kicked out this fall in spite of a Trump victory for it’s extremely poor performance after only one term. This has happened only twice in the nation’s history. Why did the ‘red wave’ not happen? The same reason it likely won’t happen again as people like myself won’t vote for a proven GOPe candidate. My once mostly conservative Rep in MI (Walberg MI-R) voted for the same three bills which is now law, to hell with him.
Massie talking about Dems saving Johnson in the vote:
“Can you imagine if I just voted to save Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker and went back to my district in Kentucky to explain this? They’d think I was CRAZY !!”
This Johnson fella is worse even than Paul Ryan, and aryan was seriously horse crap.
Massie points out what is going on right now? It hasn’t happened in any of our lifetimes
i.e Speaker being saved by Dems. This is unprecedented he stressed a few times.
Anyway, I finished the podcast. Rand Paul is doing one next with this guy which I’m sure will be intriguing.
People in his 4th District have no clue of how treacherous “Gentle Mike” is. They will resoundingly reelect him.
Johnson, the Manchurian Speaker from the Manchurian Party. Vacate them all!
I’m hoping we can replace that rat fink McConnell with Massie. What a pair of senators that’d make from Kentucky.
Would be huge all depends if he wants it
Posts BUMP! Johnson is a deceiver. His DEEDS are opposite his WORD.
.
His turn tells me the DS found his Achilles heal.
Or he was a rhino in disguise.
I at least give the Republican Party credit for being politically astute. When they want to get a GOP bill passed that would raise all kinds of opposition among Democrats — like a Ukraine aid bill that is basically a massive welfare bill for white people and defense contractors — just let the Democrats be the ones who are corrupt and stupid enough to push it.
The Republican Hissy-fit of the month. Seems to me they continue to prove they really can’t unite for any thing and yet they tel us to unite and elect their candidates.
