It's funny: you can always spot the non-Marines out there! Those young men did the lately exceptional thing of completing Boot Camp and volunteering to serve some years to serve their country in one of the toughest of the services. Of course they should be able to wear their newly-earned Dress Blues at their graduation!

It shows the choice they made and the risks they are willing to accept to serve their country.

Anybody with an ounce of patriotism should have allowed them that honor, rather than giving the standard "well, if we make that exception.." BS answer.

Congratulations, Marines!

“Anybody with an ounce of patriotism should have allowed them that honor, “

I think I know a little about patriotism having volunteered for a tour in Afghanistan, 3 in Iraq and over 27 years of Army Service. Go back to eating your crayons.

From the article: “Their school is in Pueblo, Colorado also known as the “Home of Heroes” because it was home to four Medal of Honor recipients: “

They should follow in the footprints of the 4 and emulate how they walked the stage.

The dress of the occasion is to be standard cap and gown. No deviation. No matter how much pride one has.

These young men should accept that they are among their peers in the graduating class. That is an honor all its own.

If they wish to wear their dress blues at the prom or at a class gathering after the ceremony then that's fine. But the graduates are walking in as a uniform body of peers and fellows. That should be upheld and respected.
