Well not really. I mean the buyout was $4 billion, so right off the bat they’re big in the hole (though nearly half of that was stock). Plus of course making more product costs money. So if they’ve made $6.4 billion with only $3.3 billion more invested they’re well on their way to profitable on that acquisition. You throw 4 bills down and you make it all back plus 60% in 10 years, that’s not a bad investment.
Yep. I’m not a big SW fan, but I think the value of the franchise will be there for at least another 30 years.
Except that Disney has killed the franchise. New Star Wars is losing money, NOT making any. Every new star Wars project is worse than the last and losses more money.
They stopped all Star Wars movies and made several crappy series for their streaming service. Only one of which, was any good.
Future profit for Star Wars looks bleak....
