As one of the fastest-growing states in the country, Utah has proven year after year that it can sustain its increasing population. According to the latest U.S. News and World Report ranking, the Beehive State has remained at the top. The study focused on over 70 metrics and thousands of data points to determine which states best serve their residents. "Utah has a vibrant, diverse economy and unsurpassed natural beauty, but what truly sets our state apart is our people," said Utah Gov. Spencer Cox in a press release about the new ranking.
Don’t travel much but that SLC gave me the creeps.
And now they’re even getting an NHL team.
Everyone should move there.
Yeah...even that big lake is running out of SALT water. How much fresh water is there for all the people and ag?
I haven’t read this but I rarely agree with what makes a state #1.
Usually I perfer less diversity not more. Wow,I guess that make me diverse?
They have had NBA basketball for many years.
“I see the gentleman from Utah
Our friendly Beehive State
How can we help you, Utah?
How can we make you great?”
“Well, we got to irrigate our deserts
We gotta get some things to grow
And we gotta tell this country about Utah
‘Cause nobody seems to know”
-Randy Newman
Fastest growing is relative to what’s already there.
Absolute numbers might tell a more accurate story.
For example, how many new residents are moving to Utah compared to Florida or Texas or N. Carolina? It’s easy for a low number to get a higher percentage than an already established huge number. 10% of 100,000 is 10,000, while 1% of a million is also 10,000.
Colorado has already been swarmed and ruined so they’re going to move on to Utah.
I’ve heard that Utah has a high birth rate, because Mormons tend to have large families. How much population growth is natural increase vs. people relocating to Utah.
I appreciate your thinking: “ Don’t move to Utah, it is very creepy”.
Hopefully this catches on.
And then Texas and Florida.
I have mixed feelings about Utah.
Got in a 3 car accident in provo utah while traveling the United States. Cops arrived on the scene, and automa58cally assumed i was to blame beczuse “there were no skidmarks” on the road. Cop began harassing me, telling me that if I had so much as an aspirin in my system, they would throw the book at me.
The woman who pulled infant of my vehicle heard him yelling at me, and came hobbling across the road waving her arms and saying “no officer, you are wrong, it was my fault, not his. I pulled in front of his vehicle”- may God bless her for speaking up! The cops attitude changed a bit, but still wasn’t very friendly.
My vehicle was totalled, and got towed to a garage. Cop took me to the edge of town where there was a “telephone I could use”, and dropped me and my dog off
Long story short, phone did not work- cord was torn off. I had to walk all the way back to town, in 111 degree temp, and before I even got 1/2 back, my feet were blistered and painful to walk on. Not sure what the temp of the tar was, but it was sure painful to walk on.
A Mormon woman saw me resting beside the road, stopped, asked if I was alright- told her yes, but she offered me a ride anyways to town motel. I told her my story on the way, and she was quiet. She left, and I got a room, laid down because it was too hot to do anything else, and about a 1/2 hour later, got a,knock on the door.
I opened up, saw a younger girl standing there, and her mother in the car which I recognized. She said “mom told me you were in an accident and needed help. There are some herbs for your feet, some food, and drink” (and of course a mormon tract in the bag), I thanked her, and she left.
Longer story shortened, th3 herbs for the feet were amazing. They really soothed them quite a bit. The blisters took awhile to subside, and i had to walk around limping for a bit, but again, the herbs were a big help when i got back and could soak them again.
I managed to find a Baptist church where I could make a few calls from as I was running out of money by then. 1 fella was an ex lawyer, and helped me deal with the insurance investigator, and got me a pretty good payout for the vehicle.
I know one thing, I wouldn’t make it in Utah with the heat- it was horrendous. I need cold spings, falls, winters, and mkderate summers- It was a really beautiful state though, what I got to see of it before the accident.
While I was staying in the motel, on the news there was a report of a black man that had supposedly been hung on some campus. I wasn’t there in Utah long enough to hear the outcome of the I vestigstion, but I assume it was a suicide, but the news media tried to make it sound like a hate-crime murder right from the get go.
“Overdeveloping the state of Utah is making it unlivable. Vote Cox out!”
“The report found that 62% of Utah voters said they think the state is on the “wrong track,” while 38% reported that the state is “headed in the right direction.”
Cox is a Mutt wannabee. Hopefully, he’ll be voted out on Nov 5th.
You can count on me, God willing.
Thanks for the anecdotes of creepy weird negative things in UT. Hopefully if more people share these it will slow the growth and keep the commies away.
Why do people obsess over things that have nothing to do with them?
mormons have a 100 billion dollar slush fund so anything is possible..
