Just a heads up that we have just entered a very strong G4 (scale is G1-G5) solar storm. (G5 is grid collapse).

NOAA Storm Prediction Center held a press conference early today with “reporters” from NYTimes, CNN AP, etc. and a number of local news outlets), so you will likely be seeing a lot of stories on it.

Also, aurora may be seen down as far as Alabama.

Trivia point: Between 1859 and 2022 there were a total of nine aurora events seen in the lower latitudes. In 2023 alone there were SIX, with no significant CME events.
