Those two articles really do a job on inulin (claiming no efficacy). Since the author is or was an employee of a pharmaceutical company that presumably doesn't market inulin I'm not surprised. Meanwhile, another source gives a different picture...

"available evidence from meta-analyses, clinical trials, and expert opinions supports the use of inulin, typically at doses of 12g or more per day, as an effective treatment for improving bowel habits and relieving constipation"

...with a list of references

I just started it so no comment thus far.
