There’s only 5 minutes left to sundown...are you going to buy the chicken or not?
In Oregon they used to require a secondary heat source in every house stick-built. Very sensible, as power can go out & sometimes for days at a time. My house here in Idaho is electric only. I do worry what I’d do if the power were out for any length of time.
Where we are- we have only one source- fuel oil burner- when electric goes out, we fire up the generator and run a room heater when it’s not too cold, or the house furnace if it’s real cold- we just have to be sure to have several cans of gas for the generator as outages in the sticks can last days sometimes-
Sometimes with these crazy laws I assume there was some very specific issue or situation at hand that led to the law being passed. I wonder what the backstory on this one was? :-D
Probably the sheriff was a Democrat and he charged a fee for a permit to sell chickens after daylight.
Dang right! Do you want a society where phony, rotten potatoes aren't restricted to the Presidency?
For example. "It is against the law to live in a dog kennel (or house) unless you're a dog."
I'll bet ONE guy ONCE slept in a dog house and claimed it was his house so they passed a law to make it illegal.
Grandpa Fred lived in Poky. Didn’t like his given name ‘Alfred’ so he went by ‘Fred’. He was from Kansas. The end.
In Norman Oklahoma it was, perhaps still is, illegal for a male to have a woman sit on his lap without an intervening pillow of at least six inches thickness, if the woman was not his relative, when the male is over 18 but under the age of 40.
I knew a person who received a ticket for this crime in the late 1960’s.
Pocatello smile law: I guess funeral goers must all smile.
Well number 12 ends my fishing days in Idaho, but thankfully there’s rat fishing in Baltimore to look forward to.

And we thought Utah was crazy?
This is what happens when drunks make laws.
Probably a lot of people pulled all kinds of crap and they had to make laws against it
In the US it is illegal to trade in onion futures.
Well, I know what I’m gonna do tomorrow! I’m going to get myself a camel, find a merry-go-round by a pond or lake, get that camel up on that merry-go-round, get atop that camel, and go fishing while grimacing the whole time...
There are places in the South where they hunt wild hogs from helicopters. Not so crazy if you know what's going on in the world.
