That din’t happen when the Dems had the House and Senate with 51 votes from 2021 to 2023.
The Dems thought they had other ways to get Trump in '21 thru '23. Those things haven't worked. 2024 will be a year like no other.
The democrats never abolished the filibuster for Presidential appointments - until they did. When Reid unilaterally abolished the filibuster for district and appellate court judicial appointments, the only reason he didn’t abolish the filibuster for Supreme Court appointments was because there were no vacancies at the time.
From 2021 to 2023, lots of democrats called for the abolishment of legislative filibusters. The only reason they didn’t was because it bit them in the butt when Reid abolished the filibuster for Presidential appointments in 2013, Republicans retook the Senate a few months later and in 2016 Trump was elected and Republican controlled both houses of Congress.
