I am about to cook some small red potatoes for dinner, and I see a couple have started sprouting. I’ve never tried planting potatoes. Do you cut the eye off and harden it? I have no idea if this would even work, but thought I would ask the rest of you.

It’s called ‘Chitting’ a potato and here’s how to do it. It makes ONE potato into a LOT of potatoes for planting. :)

Potatoes ARE a rewarding crop. I’m over them, though. Wisconsin grows potatoes only second to Idaho, so they are always cheap and plentiful for me and I don’t have to waste garden space on them.

HOWEVER - since I know how to raise them, I CAN if push comes to shove. ;)

“When they outlaw potatoes, only outlaws will have potatoes!” :)
