They are called tourons. A combo of tourists and morons. I’ve never been to Yellowstone but where I didn’t see some evidence of their activity. People leaving their vehicles and wandering out to the herd to get a picture. There was one that hung out at OFI when I stayed there and I avoided the door nearest their hangout. Same at the cabins they rent. You just wait until they pass and leave them alone (especially during the rut).
