Anyone with visible face, forehead and neck tattoos, who returns to the store. demanding to know why she wasn’t hired, is looking for a fight or grounds for some kind of discrimination lawsuit. She has to know how that spectacle looks to the average shopper. Of course tbe manager is not going to blurt that out

There was a time when we paid good money to see someone like that at a carnival side show. Now if she were also a sword swallower of fire eater she could have a permanent gig with such a show.

In our youth people with such tattoos were considered to be “dirty”.

I think you’re missing a point. If she’s selling clothes to women, what men think of her tattoos is not relevant. It’s the women who are going to buy clothes from her that don’t like the tattoos that matter here.

I think my comment "But if the person (doesn't matter which sex) interacts with customers, tats will have a definite impact on hiring." is exactly the point.

I used to work for TJX. They have plenty of tattooed workers. If you are even remotely a nice person, they will hire you. I will say, I only worked with one entitled person in my time there. Everyone was actually pretty great. (Extra Christmas money turned into extra anytime money very quickly.) When we relocated 10 years ago, I never went back to “paid” work.
