Don't fall for their trick to conflate PROTECTED speech..
Cue Freepers crying "antisemitic" at me!
I don’t believe that calling for genocide is protected speech...but perhaps that’s just me.
Someone is going for that Dearborn constituency!
Well if it’s a choice of making it illegal to criticize Israel
VS
making it illegal to criticize Islam...
I think most..if not all..on the right know the difference.
How about we just love the people of Israel, while criticizing perhaps the government and those who claim to be Jews but are not? (see Revelation 2:9)
More likely to ban criticism of Hamas.
And Zelensky.
I doubt it.
And I'm 100% pro Israel.
We can honestly debate what Isreal or Palestine are doing. If you start calling for “river to sea” or posing for pictures with an Israeli flag that has swastikas on it, then we have a problem.

All speech should be protected.
Free speech allows anyone to criticize anyone, for any reason. If it’s stupid, and/or gets you punched in the face for saying it, so be it. Weigh the risks before jumping in.
We haven’t had free speech in America for decades, and never will again
Whatever, Tommy Boy. Just send a trillion to Ukraine next time. pos
The Left's version of "free speech" is "Your speech is violence. Our violence is speech."
The Political Left, and the Hard Left MSM, are the most vehement critics of Netanyahu and Israel, in the entire world!
What a pathetic clown show.
There would be a huge antisemitic backlash if a law like this were passed. If the ADL or AIPAC is pushing legislators for this then they really need to think again. I can guarantee this wouldn’t go over well with people on either side of things.
Just say no. Jews are not above criticism. We have plenty of laws to charge people with unlawfulness. ‘Hate crime’ laws are antithetical to Liberty and dangerous.
But don’t dare criticize Hamas and Gaza.
I think this is what he is referring to:
“April 11, 2024
Press Release
Earlier today, Congressman Anthony D’Esposito introduced the Define to Defeat Act. If passed, this act would apply the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism to the enforcement of civil rights laws.”

The working definition of antisemitism:
“According to the definition, anti-Semitism “is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews,” and that anti-Semitism could take physical or rhetorical form and be directed at Jews as well as non-Jews, in addition to property and institutions.
The document lists 11 ways that anti-Semitism could take shape. They include calling for Jews to be killed, advancing enduring Jewish stereotypes about conspiracy and control, blaming Jews as a group for the actions of individuals or various forms of denying the Holocaust.
Six of the 11 examples have to do principally with certain kinds of rhetoric around Israel. They include:
Accusing Jews of being more loyal to Israel or to a global Jewish agenda than to their home countries.
Denying Jews the right to self-determination or calling Israel a “racist endeavor.”
Applying a double standard to Israel that isn’t applied to other countries.
Applying classic anti-Semitic smears, like the blood libel, to Israel.
Comparing Israel to the Nazis.
Holding Jews collectively responsible for Israel’s actions.
The definition says anti-Semitism “frequently charges Jews with conspiring to harm humanity, and it is often used to blame Jews for ‘why things go wrong.’”

So Massie is basically right it would outlaw any criticism of Jews and Israel that falls outside whatever politically correct standards they create. It definitely goes against the First Amendment. It’s another hate crime law except this one is exclusively for Jews.
Wiki has a lengthy section on Massie's voting record and statements in Congress.
He appears to be a committed Libertarian, voting to remove USA sanctions and favoritism towards a wide range of countries.
Wiki lists four times that he has voted on or spoken about Israel.
Based on the Wiki list, Massie is clearly uncomfortable with USA assistance to Israel and with sanctions against Iran.
My opinions about Massie are based on the limited excerpts in Wiki.
I will have to do more reading to get a full picture.
Also - I am no friend to Libertarians on the immigration issue. Massie has voted NO on two bills that would have increased security on our border and made it simpler to expel illegals.
I’m Jewish. If I wanted to be a citizen of Israel, I can be despite not having any relatives there for 2,000 years.
I do not consent to having my First Amendment rights stripped because of Israel.
I’m seeing young punks creating riots and fighting the police.
I am sooo weary seeing you guns creating havoc and they don’t have any idea about life yet.
To let them do what I see, is uncalled for.. Unnecessary
I raised 4 sons.. I am a mom.. All 4 of them are bigger and stronger than I.. But I carry the known name of seniority status.
Not a one of mine would go to a college and do what I see. What do we have in the youth today! I see head gear that is not American.. They would be on the next plane for back home.. That is, if gunfire didn’t persuade them.
Don’t mess around with them.. They will outlast you till you reach your last end. If they are being encouraged to riot, from the classroom.. Do the same.
Grow some spine.. You adults are supposed to be in control.
I never cared one way or the other about Jews, and I certainly do not support muslims in any way, but this exercise of power from certain quarters is really interesting to watch and make note of.
