There was a case about 15 years ago where the Innocent Project people said they had found DNA evidence from the truck where a murder took place that would prove their hero not guilty because he said he wasn't even in the truck. They gloated how they were going to make the small-town Florida po-lice look like racist hick fools. When the DNA results came in, it was an exact match for their hero and so he remained in prison.
I’m sure that’s not the only time IP has been bitten by premature publicity.
It doesn’t change the fact that DNA exhoneration is a good thing.
