I remember Timothy Leary giving a lecture at Mandel Hall at U of Chicago. He was actively around in the 1960s so wouldn’t have been difficult to find. Tom Lehrer was also from Harvard and was active in around the same timeframe.
G Gordon Liddy was apparently behind the arrest of Timothy Leary for possession. Later after Leary got out of prison they went on tour together in a debate format, arguing the various social issues of the 70s. It was a big ticket event of the time... billed somewhat as ultra-right vs. ultra-left. Leary was nothing like the leftists of today, he was very libertarian with his ‘turn on, tune in and drop out’ which is hardly collectivist, more nihilist actually.
