"the 737’s design robustness needs to be recognized as a factor also."
Absolutely. There's a good article that was posted yesterday from The Atlantic about the loss of manufacturing and engineering capability in the USA. The full article in the original Atlantic site is worth reading.
Boeing and the Dark Age of American Manufacturing
So many of us have witnessed the demise of Engineering leadership in the executive ranks and on Boards of Directors.

Why circle? Just radio ahead and have an emergency landing at the destination?Maybe by the time they reached the destination something else would have fallen off, like an engine.

Has Boeing followed Tyson’s example and hired all illegal aliens after dumping its American employees?

I see more reporting about the wheels falling off Boeing planes than the wheels having all fallen off the U.S.

Sloppy maintenance. Mechanic who performed tire change most likely didn’t install the two lock bolts on the axle nut. Left main gear outboard wheel, also called #1 main wheel. The rotation of the #1 main wheel would spin the axle nut off, if the two lock bolts were not installed. Right hand threads on all wheel positions.

737s have been in service for over 50 years.
There are over 5,000 currently flying.
If main gear wheel security was ever an issue, it would have evidenced itself long, long before now.
This is a maintenance, and by extension, an airline issue.
I fly 737s frequently, and prefer them to most Airbus acft.
