One longtime election official who attended the Michigan training, East Bay Township Clerk Susanne Courtade, not only plans to stay for the November election but is running for another term despite being harassed in the aftermath of the 2020 election. She said she faced attacks on her character and demands for her removal.

“I felt attacked, but then I also felt that if I stepped aside, they win,” she said. “I’m sad that we are at this point where we have to understand better how to prepare and protect ourselves and our citizens and our workers, but I’m glad that we are able to come together.”

I’ve worked as an election official since Reagan first ran for office. NEVER had any real issues, nothing but complaints about the line length, not wearing a hat or shirt with candidate-related stuff. NEVER had anyone violate a firearm policy or act-out.

However ... during training (required every election cycle) this year several women of color and one blue hair non binary voiced their FEAR of violence. The woman who runs elections for the county pointed out that in Hall County (Hall, 85% for Trump) has NEVER had a LEO-response worthy incident. She added that every precinct has an assigned deputy(s) on site and the managers all have a direct line to the Sheriff’s dispatch, bypassing any 911 call.center. NET: we’re prepared AND it’s never been needed, (so stop listening to NPR and MSNBC).

They’ve been prepped and believe in their dark hearts that the right is the problem.
