Never attended an event, but I should.
My great great grandfather hung out with Johnny Appleseed.
My grandfather told he was mostly into Cider, and showed the Indians how to make it too.
They had huge parties back then.
I went to one near Las Vegas many years ago. Still have the patch and some targets around somewhere.
Frankly, I didn’t know that Appleseeds are still being held. Pretty sure Fred passed away some years back.
Thank you for posting this.
Would they let me use my flintlock there?
Ditto.
Added a bookmark on my desktop for it.. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
You should; you would enjoy.
I have attended two. I found a lot I knew about shooting was wrong.
I want my grand kids to attend and learn the right way early.
I did and it wore Me Out !
Well worth your time.
My old Dad participated in the 200th anniversary re-enactment of the events of April 1776, while I shot movies with my 8mm Bolex. He carried an original Brown Bess, which (I hope) my brother still has. Hard to believe that was 49 years ago.
I got interested in this thread because my ancestorswere Loyalists had to move out of Cambridge, MA up to Cornwall because of their views. They then grew apples - and other things - and their trees, or at least some of them are still growning. How did this group get the name?

I did a couple of Appleseed events—and I was in my 60s. Learned a lot about American history.
Happy Patriots' Day
Here is the background of how they got the name.

I wish every US citizen 15-18 years old could have that experience. It might change the world, at least our part of it.
My 8 mm with set trigger (stock photo). Haven't shot any movies yet.
“Haven’t Shot any Movies...”
Quacked me Up.
