Consider the possibility that the plan is to make Trump the Speaker of the House. In order to do that, they have to remove Johnson. In order to remove him, they have to have a reason.
Also, in the meantime, America (the part that has been sound asleep all this time) is FINALLY starting to see that the border needs to be closed and that we need to stop sending billions overseas to fight wars. (... and that wars are a major vehicle for money laundering.)
All I know is the Q drops “you’ll love how this movie ends” and “you are watching a movie”, and “What makes a good movie? Good actors.”
So I am just watching and would bite my nails if I had that habit.
One more possibility re the Speaker of the House brouhaha :

If they remove Johnson from the SotH job, and then somehow obtain a majority (via R resignations?), the Ds will own the WH, the Senate, and the House. Then everything that goes down after that point is on THEM.
I do believe that things are going to get a lot worse and a lot scarier. The Ds will own it.
