I am NOT a fan of our Ukraine policy but this has been a major military coup on our part. We get rid of our older weapons almost for free while Ukraine attrites the Russian army down to a nub and NO American servicemen are killed. That sounds like a near historical military win to me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But what is the future LP? Do you think Russia/China is going to surrender? NO! Do you think Ukraine with US/NATO support is going to invade Russia (and then presumably push on to China? NO! (Or maybe that is the globalist/derp neocon fantasy.)
Didn't we learn in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan that it is possible to win every battle, yet lose the war?
Some version of this neocon futility is in store for us in Ukraine.
In addition, China and Russia are rapidly integrating their military capabilities via Ukraine in possible prep for a joint invasion of Taiwan.
Depleting Russia is a slice of meat in the shit sandwich. But it's still a shit sandwich.
You want to know how I see the future? Well, all right.
No, I don't expect Russia and China to surrender. I DO expect them to become unable to further pursue their current militarist policies.
You speak about winning all the battles but losing the war. Just who do you think we will lose to when our global adversaries are shriveled husks of their former selves?
Again, I do not like our policy in Ukraine. I am about as far from being a NEOCON as you will meet. I do think that we are making the best of a bad situation.
We are wearing down an international rival, Russia, not Putin, on the cheap and without losing American lives. We get to replace our old armaments, again on the cheap. Foreign military sales are booming as other nations see just how well our old stuff works and want the new stuff which works even better.
Most of the "aid money" to Ukraine is spent in the US providing jobs for US workers. I would prefer that ALL the money was spent in the US doing things like sealing the southern border and deporting ALL the illegals.
If you think Russia and China integrating their capabilities will allow China to take Taiwan, think again.
China attacking Taiwan would be the biggest combination, "Hey y'all, watch this!" and "Hold my beer while I do ...." moment in world history.
China has seen just how badly the Russians have screwed up what should have been a two week walkover. They are now looking at attacking a better prepared, more determined adversary over a 97NM stretch of water. Really?
The international sanctions, public and private, that would be placed on China will make the sanctions on Russia look like a mild "Tsk, tsk."
Attacking Taiwan would be the CCP signing its own death warrant. The outcome would not be in doubt. I would only be a matter of time.
