Would a military metal ammo box constitute a faraday cage?

Depends on the box… some have a gasket that would prevent the lid from making full contact with the sides… it can be remedied using metallic tape, but the best confirmation is to place a cell phone inside and try to call it in a location with good cell phone reception… if you hear the ring then it’s not working as a faraday cage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any good metal conductor, even a mesh, will do.
Ceramic, stainless steel, lead or concrete, for example, would not.
