Would Israel Go Nuclear Against Iran? And will the U.S. be dragged along for the ride?
The American Conservative ^ | 4/15/24 | Douglas Macgregor

In August 1961, during a period when tensions between Washington and Moscow were at a high point, Admiral Konstantin I. Derevyanko penned a letter to Premier Krushchev. His purpose was to alert Krushchev to what the Admiral called the “nuclear romanticism” of the Soviet General Staff. The Admiral’s words still carry the force of logic and common sense and are still worthy of our attention today:

Which planet do these people [the Soviet General Staff] intend to live on in the future, and to which Earth do they plan to send their troops to conquer territories?... By this indiscriminately massive use of nuclear weapons on a small and narrow area like Western Europe, we would not only be accepting millions of radioactively contaminated civilians, but, because of the prevailing westerly winds, would also be radioactively contaminating millions of our own people for decades—our armed forces and the populations of the socialist countries, including our own country as far as the Urals.

If Iran gets impatient and wants a nuclear bomb now, all it has to do is buy one. Pakistan or N Korea would be happy to oblige. If they want to build their own, that will take a little longer.

Douglas Macgregor is the author of the article. My reply was about the article and his hostility toward Israel. He does not speak for the Biden administration, deep state, Democrats or Republican parties in any capacity. He's another retired officer using current events as a soapbox for his own beliefs.

Bienenfeld's The Dark Side Of Col. Douglas Macgregor on American Thinker goes over his interview with Cyrus Janssen on December 13, 2023. Janssen is pro-China, anti-Israel. Getting known by the company you keep applies. Watching the video of the interview, Macgregor asserts Israel is lying about its casualties and accepting the numbers given by the Gaza Health Ministry without criticism.

His main arguing method is to the narrative of the side he supports at face value, completely disregard and deny the other side. Dress it all up in the language and style of a military officer, and sidetrack into historically irrelevant facts to show how educated he is. Watch the video of the interview with Janssen and look for all the subtle manipulations, if you can tolerate it.

Janssen starts off with this tweet by Macgregor, Nov 29, 2023:

"Is Israel’s desired end state an "Arab-Free Israeli State from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean?"

"If the answer is "yes," then the Middle East is indeed on the path to a war.""

This question is really accusing Netanyahu of using the conflict to drive Palestinians out of Israel entirely. From the River to the Sea is also an Palestinian saying for eliminating Israel. Macgregor is not using words like this innocently.

Here is some more of what Macgregor tweets, April 1, 2024:

"Congressman Walberg, Republican from Michigan, who wants to stop abortions everywhere also urges the use of a nuclear weapon by the Israelis to end the war in Gaza.

Apparently, killing a million Arab men, women and children is acceptable, but abortion under any circumstances is not.

Stalin was right after all: “One death is a tragedy. A million deaths are simply a statistic.”

May divine providence protect Americans from fools like Walberg who hold Federal office.

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/4566414-gop-congressman-walks-back-remarks-on-using-nuclear-weapons-in-gaza-i-was-using-a-metaphor/

What the hill wrote: "Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) clarified Sunday that his comments that Gaza should be “like Hiroshima and Nagasaki” were not literal, backing off remarks that many interpreted to be endorsing the use of nuclear weapons."

Walberg'ss words were said in anger. He wasn't really calling for a nuclear strike on Gaza which would have fallout over Israel and Macgregor knew it. He is taking Walberg and The Hill out of context. A million deaths is a statistic is often attributed to Stalin. Macgregor is applying it to Israel to imply genocidal intent. One more, and this is a good one, Macgregor tweet from April 12, 2024:

""Washington knows that Israel’s war in Gaza is not about Israeli national security or even the elimination of Hamas.

It is what Muslims think it is: a war for Jewish regional supremacy with the expansion of Israeli power from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s public warmongering is simply the verbal expression of that vision."

How more blatantly anti-Israel, pro-Iran, pro-Hamas, pro-Quds Force and in denial of reality can anyone get? This is far beyond what the run-of-the-mill anti-Israel pro-Palestinian protestors have said.

What more do you need from Macgregor's own words?

What percentage of the American government’s annual revenue is given to foreign countries?

Every penny of our $34trillion dollar debt goes to interests other than the American middle class.
