Protesters are taking to the streets amid an ongoing economic crisis, making their concerns heard.
Cuba’s communist leadership is facing a fierce backlash that has not been seen since similar protests in July 2021.
Since the 2021 protests, it is estimated that nearly 500,000 Cubans have sought refuge in the United States.
In this Sky News Digital Originals, we explore whether Cuba’s communist leadership could be about to tumble.

I’ve always thought it strange, how we’ve heard over the years how Cuba and the Cuban people have suffered because of America’s trade embargo against Cuba.
Why does the economic health and prosperity of a communist country, depend upon trade with an “evil” capitalist regime such as America?
If communism is really such a superior social and economic system, according to communist theory, why is there a necessity to deal with the so-called “evil” capitalist world?
Been hearing this for 60 years.
We need someone like Marco to throw gasoline on the fire-do it in Spanish. He could be a high profile VP candidate fanning the flames every step of the way. He could even go there and fast forward the country into the 21st century as it’s appointed president.
Empty their jails of political prisoners, tell their story to the world and refill them with our illegals-on contract.

Yep, the Cubans and Iranians are standing up and afraid to do a darn thing. Can’t blame them, they’ll be punished.
What they need is a leader that can unify them all, strength and safety in numbers.
Cigars, sugar cane and relatively cheap resorts only go so far.
What communist country isn’t? The one thing that they are particularly adept at is surviving “on the brink”.
It will revert right back to the 1950’s with a strong tourist trade, beachfront resorts, and casinos.
And a big beautiful Trump Resort in Havana.
