cbs apparently doesn’t understand their long-standing contract with Augusta National. That can explain the late start.
What can’t be explained is not delaying local news for a few minutes to finish the finale of the freaking concert.

Everything on CBS was shifted because the damned GOLF GAME went past the timeline schedule!....It was boring, they could have switched it back to espn+, Scottie had a 3 stroke lad going into 18...BORING. Besides, the only thing this year's Masters will be remembered for (other that Scottie's 2nd jacket) will be the obvious blackballing of all the LIV golfers

It looks like it was the special report on the Israeli attack that CBS snuck into the broadcast after The Masters that was the culprit.
The switchover was obviously computer-controlled and they forgot to account for their special report.
