You will find statues of the first and second dynasties carved from steatite, a very hard stone, harder than the stone found at the Sphinx.
Yes I know that very hard stonework was done. Some of these works are as flat as modern truing tables. Not done with stone or copper tools. On some things traces of rotary tools can be seen. They had to have had a very high technology that has since been lost.
