Popcorn time

Who can afford popcorn popped by a $20/hr middle school dropout?

McDonalds now sells 40-piece chicken nugget meals?

I remember how filling the 20-piece was back in the day. We have become such gluttons!

40 nuggets half the size of the old 20 nuggets...

Perhaps they will all close and families can make sandwiches and stop and eat at picnic tables along the way. Communicate face to face. Enjoy nature for a bit then get back on the road.

People who eat it regularly can brown bag it. Cooking, even something as simple as a sandwich can be therapeutic.

A slight trend is occurring in young women who want to stay home and be traditional 50s housewives. Not sit on the sofa spending hubby's money on Amazon. Gardening. Canning. Sewing. Child rearing. Living on a budget. Making sammiches for the family.

Back in the early 1980s I was dating a young lady who used to work at a McDonalds in Fayetteville,NC. I once asked her if any of those burgers every hit the floor before hitting the grill. She told me "all the time!" The manager there used to tell the employees "If you got time to lean you got time to clean."

Mrs L worked in the banquet industry. She used to say the cup cost more than the soda they put in it.

Ray Kroc is turning over in his grave.

His name always reminds me of...

"Wham bam, don't wait long
Shake, fries, patty, you're gone
And how about that friendly name
Heck, every little thing oughtta stay the same
Oh my name's not Kroc, that's Kroc with a K
Like crocodile, but not spelt that way"

“They need to raise the minimum wage again so people can afford to eat at McDonald’s. Rinse and repeat.”

There are various ways to run a successful and profitable business that take smarts, skill, and sweat.

The ways to destroy businesses at large are pretty simple. Raise wages too high to afford and don’t enforce laws for stealing and wanton destruction.

My favorite Ray Kroc story was when he bought the Padres, and they were stinking up the place, he went on the stadium PA and said, “I’ve never seen such stupid ballplaying in my life!”

McDonald’s meal deals have historically come with a drink and fries.

Poor fatties. You wanted an unreasonable minimum wage, and now your paradigm has been shafted.

Calif. is not only a one party state, but they also seem to think they should be dictating certain issues to the other states as well. Why should they make any laws that affect other states? Their laws should pertain to their state...only.

I made 90 cents an hour at Mickey D’s in about 1963. We could eat just about as much as we wanted.

When I was in Jr High I usually ate lunch at a White Castle that was near the school.

4 sliders, a fry and a large orange soda...

It was like 1.65 and that seemed like a lot at the time.

Lunch at school was 35 cents but it was sold at a loss I’m sure... extra cartons of milk were a nickle or a dime for chocolate...

A Hershey bar was 5 cents

My dad made about 12 bucks an hour and it was enough to run the household and also put something in savings and supported the cost of an 80 acre farm we used on weekends to get away from the city. (St Louis)

It was about 1968

LOL... I can’t imagine being “angry” over the prices for this slop because I don’t eat it in the first place. But even if I did, my reaction to the prices would be a shrug and leaving the place, not anger.

The problem is California passes laws which turn into viruses that infect every state legislature outside California and often the federal one too. Those kooks in California end up deciding policy nationwide.
