We had a "Carrolls" burger drive in restaurant near us in the 60's. The advertisement abut your burger fries and deink was "Change back from your dollar".
So basically McDonalds is selling us more breading and less chicken!
Glad I don't go there anymore. But in my younger days, the 20-piece was the go to menu item for me. I was in the Marines then so I could burn all those calories off.
LOL...I kinda remember that Ray Kroc story
Carroll’s is now a franchise owner of Burger King...I remember when a Big Mac was filling...now it is small..just like the Whopper!
Bottled Coke...the small bottle (6.5oz) for 6¢? Large bottle (10oz) for 10¢. Were those the prices? I know we always bought the small bottles because the large Coke was more than we could afford.
PLUS...there were bottle deposits! A kid could earn money collecting and returning bottles.
That’s funny. I loved their milkshakes.
See, the policies of the left won’t cause collapse, not in California, not across America. They WILL however cause a wildly different social structure to emerge. Eventually, people will accept it, for one very simple reason: Americans actually prefer peaceful slavery over dangerous freedom. Even the so called “patriots”.
Yes the good old days we would put the peanuts in the Pepsi so we could ride and have both at the same time we rode for hours.
In California?
I had this discussion 15 or 20 years ago with a black friend who was indignant about minimum wage for McDonald’s workers, insisting that “no one can live on that kind of money.”
I explained that there were always some jobs that were considered stepping stones for young people to get a little work experience and a good recommendation, so they could look for a better job and move up.
She remained indignant. People aren’t supposed to have to earn things. They should be able to stay low-skill forever and just be given more money, like candy.
“Gardening. Canning. Sewing. Child rearing. Living on a budget. Making sammiches for the family.”
When I was a schoolboy the girls took home economics classes. That’s sexist paternalism now, I guess.
No. Sorry. Florida.
